How To Grow Trees

Select area for tree planting with regard to mature height and spread of tree. Dig hole 8" to 10" larger all around than container it is purchased in. Mix one-third Garden Magic Peat with two-thirds existing soil.

Remove tree from container and cut root ball 1" deep down the full length of root ball in three places around root ball. Do not tear root ball apart.

Fill bottom of hole with above mixture so that when tree is placed in hole, top of root ball will be at soil level. Place tree in hole at desired level and fill around root ball with above mixture.

Water tree in thoroughly with a mixture of Ferti-lome Root Stimulator at a rate of 3 ½ tbs. per gallon of water. Do this two more times 10 days apart.

After watering, place Ferti-lome Tree and Shrub Food at recommended rate around tree on top of soil. Build up soil around tree planting so that when watering, the water will not run off.

Mulch around the tree with pine straw. Continue to keep tree watered well. Fertilize tree in spring and fall with Ferti-lome Tree and Shrub Food.
